Debra Antney, former management to rapper Nicki Minaj, has made a pretty bold public statement on her former client and Australian rapper Iggy Azalea. According to FashionStyle.com, Antney believes Azalea is not strong enough to take Nicki “down.”
Antney addressed the matter during an interview for VICE, she commented on the rumors of a “feud” between Azalea and Minaj saying that they are hardly true, but if there was ever any, she’d bet on Nicki. “I think Iggy’s got it, but she needs more training. She’s not ready to come up against Nicki Minaj. That’s not a good fighting match I wouldn’t even pay to see that. They have to come at Nicki a lot stronger than Iggy Azalea. Iggy can come in and she can run her own lane and do her own thing, but she’s not strong enough for Nicki,”
Nicki’s ex-manager added that it would not be wise to either of the Hip-Hop stars to get in a feud with each other, because that’s exactly what people want them to do and it would let people take shots at them. Atney believes that although Iggy can rap, she doesn’t think they both belong to the same music genre category, saying Azalea is actually pop. But remember Minaj has singles like “Starships” and “Superbass”?
All in all, Debra Antney believes there is enough space in the industry for both rappers, in their own leagues. She conclude her thoughts saying that all artists should remain respectful to each other and be freely open to be inspired by each other’s art, it would only push the industry to better places.
